Jersey General Hospital

Henderson Green, which is at the forefront of sustainable building design, was brought on board to undertake mechanical and electrical (M&E) designs for this vital set of projects. The projects consisted of the creation of new oncology and dermatology departments and 14 Gloucester Street, a new women’s health clinic.

The new oncology unit provides upgraded facilities for the hospital and a huge increase in treatment space.

The works included a new treatment area comprising 10 treatment chairs, new consulting rooms, a waiting area and reception. Henderson Green’s sustainable M&E designs included full heat recovery ventilation , variable speed drives and high efficiency lighting with daylight and presence control.

In order to create the space needed for the new oncology unit, it was first necessary to relocate the women’s health and dermatology departments to their brand new homes. The dermatology unit was relocated to its new location, which includes enhanced facilities and a better patient journey.

Completing the hat trick is the brand new women’s clinic – 14 Gloucester Street. This facility provides a dedicated clinic space away from the main site with its own front door.
