Once completed, the new 16 acre retail and leisure destination will include a 124,000 sq ft Sainsbury’s supermarket, nine pump petrol filling station, a 2,600 sq ft drive through KFC unit, 1,800 sq ft Costa drive through and a Marston’s family public house.
Barr Construction has already built a relationship with Terrace Hill and delivered the 49,000 sq ft Sainsbury’s store at Salters Lane in Sedgefield for the developer last year. Barr’s proven track record in retail development also means the outlets will be built in line with the retailers’ specification to maximise presentation of their brands.
Prior to work to create the new retail park, Barr will undertake a programme of remediation work.
As part of the project, Barr will create new roads leading into the Retail Park and car parking facilities. The completed development will also feature enhanced cycle and footpaths and a new bus station, offering visitors choice and eco-friendly transport links.
