Skanska starts work on Regionens Hus in Gothenburg

Skanska will partner up with Västfastigheter for the construction of the new Regionens Hus in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The agreement, worth about SEK 580m, includes the construction of a new 22,000 m² office building which will house the Västra Götaland administrative staff.  The project also includes a conference centre, restaurant and car parks.

Plans will also see Skanska redevelop the Grade II listed Bergslagen Line station.

The project has high environmental standards for energy consumption and environmental impact and is expected to receive Gold LEED certification.

Construction will begin immediately and the building is expected to be ready for occupancy during the spring 2019.
